The IGAD LPI collaborates with the University of Oxford and the Environmental Research Group Oxford (ERGO) in terms of spatial data collection and analysis. ERGO has been commissioned to assemble the spatial data sets for the project, and this builds on a considerable amount of work done by ERGO for FAO, and more specifically for the PPLPI. This collaboration has called upon vast arrays of remotely sensed data, assembled and processed by the TALA research group of Oxford University. Collaboration on spatial analysis focuses particularly on livestock distribution mapping, market accessibility analysis and poverty mapping.
