  • The Sudan, the Ethiopian and Ugandan TWGs will convene to discuss on and validate key lesson learnt messages. While the Sudan team meets on 15th and 16th October 2011 in Khartoum, the Ethiopian and Ugandan teams will conduct their meetings late October and early November 2011 in Addis Ababa and Kampala, respectively
  • The Second Workshop on Lesson Learning Framework will be taking place on the 19th and 20th of July 2011 in Khartoum, the Sudan to consolidate key lessons drawn from countries that will be recommended to the high-level meeting;
  • The Sudanese Policy Hub will convene from 10th to 12th of July, 2011 to discuss on the Lesson Learning Framework and propose the country's position;
  • IGAD LPI's country teams from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda, will convene from May 19th to 20th in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to commence on the first Lesson Learning Regional Workshop.
  • The Policy Hub in Djibouti will convene on 16th to 17th February 2011 to discuss on and validate feasible livestock projects that would be considered for the National Poverty Strategy Paper.
  • IGAD LPI team will attend the regional launch of the EC funded project entitled: “Regional Initiative in Support of Vulnerable Pastoralists and Agro-pastoralists in the Horn of Africa” on the 23 of February in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • The IGAD LPI Policy Hub in the Sudan planned to conduct its meeting on 27th and 28th December, 2010 in Khartoum on sustainability of the PH and Information Node; as well as on proposed projects that would be recommended to the country’s national poverty reduction paper.
  • The Djibouti Working Group and the Policy Forum will convene on 9th and 23rd January to discuss on pro-poor livestock projects that would be considered for the country’s PRSP
  • The Ugandan Policy Hub will meet on 10th and 11th January 2011 to examine and validate pro-poor livestock projects which will be compiled and presented by the PRSP TWG of IGAD LPI, convened from 20 to 22 December 2010 in Kampala, Uganda
  • The Steering Committee of IGAD LPI is scheduled to convene its annual meeting on 14th and 15th of December, 2010 in Kenya.
  • The Kenyan Policy Hub convenes on 6th and 7th December in Nairobi, Kenya to discuss on the feasible livestock projects aiming at raising the profile of livestock in the national economic planning
  • The Ugandan Technical Working Group will convene on 11th November 2010 to look into the draft Development Strategy and Investment Plan (DSIP) that has been prepared by Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries (MAAIF), with the view to underpin the issues of poverty reduction and gender in the DSIP.
  • The IGAD LPI country team in the Sudan planned two successive National Technical Working Group meetings on 25th October, and 30th November to discuss on feasible projects that would be recommended to the country’s national poverty reduction paper.
    The Ugandan Policy Hub will also convene on 30th November and 1st December 20101 to discuss on sustainability of the national Policy Forum and Technical Working Groups.
  • The Ugandan Policy Hub will meet on October 7, 2010 in Kampala, Uganda to discuss on the possible ways though which the representation of livestock in the country’s poverty reduction strategy and planning documents could be enhanced
  • The Ethiopian National Technical Working Group will convene on 28th September at the National Vet Institute in Debere-Zeit, Ethiopia, to discuss on bankable projects to be recommended to PASDEP, the national PRSP document.
  • IGAD LPI Chief Technical Advisor will participate in the International Conference on Pastoral livestock, which is scheduled to take place in late September at Sheikh Veterinary School in Somaliland.
  • Dr Ahmed Mohamed Hashi will visit Djibout, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan and Uganda starting July 16 to review the effectiveness of the policy hubs in delivering pro-poor policies and make recommendations on how best these machineries can work in the coming years
  • The Sudanese Policy Forum will convene on 13th and 14th June in Khartoum
  • The Gender, Livestock, and Livelihoods training will be given to the Somali country team from 8th to 10th June in Djibouti
  • Dr Abdi Jama and Mr Abebe Demissie will attend IGAD’s Result Based Management and Communication Strategy workshops, respectively, in May in Addis Ababa
  • The Gender, Livestock and Livelihoods training will be given to AU-IBAR on 26th and 27th May in Nairobi
  • Dr Otieno Mtula will attend the Participation of African Nations in Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standard-setting Organisations (PAN SPSO) workshop from 9th to 14th May in Kampala
  • The Sudanese PRSP Technical Working Groups will conduct three consecutive meetings on 12th and 23rd May, and on 1st June in Khartoum
  • A coordinating meeting of IGAD and LPI will be held on April 15, 2010 in Djibouti
  • The Livestock and Livelihood Training resumes in:
    Nairobi, Kenya, on March 1 and 2
  • The Gender, Livestock and Livelihood Training will be given to all country teams in: Khartoum, the Sudan, on February 16 and 17,
    Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on March 18 and 19
  • The Gender and Livestock Training will be conducted in:
    Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (for participants from Somalia) from 23 to 25, February
    Nairobi, Kenya (for participants from African Union – InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources - AU/IBAR) on March 4 and 5
